Hidden away within the excellent first trailer for Paul Feig's Ghostbusters was a clue to the film's viral site. Masquerading under the "Kenneth P. Higgins Institute of Science" banner, the new site has revealed a fantastic behind-the-scenes look at the new tech for the ghost-busting team, along with the science that went into the tech's design. Everything from proton packs to ghost traps to the Ecto-1 is getting an upgrade in the 2016 version, keeping the spirit of the original movies: a scientific foundation anchoring a wild imagination.
Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, Kristen Wiig, and Leslie Jones suit up as the title heroes in Sony's new iteration of Ghostbusters, which also stars Chris Hemsworth, Andy Garcia, Michael Kenneth Williams, Matt Walsh, Charles Dance, and Cecily Strong, Ghostbusters opens in theaters on July 15, 2016.

As you might have guessed, the new site that goes behind the scenes of Ghostbusters is paranormalstudieslab.com. That's where you'll find a very cool featurette explaining the science behind the design of the new Ghostbustin' gear, along with brief looks at new footage. There's also a possible clue within the name of this site's scientific institute: Higgins was the surname of a ghost who was the captain of a team of ghost pirates. Could he be coming into play in Feig's re-imagining?
