Social media has not only changed the way we live our daily lives, it’s also heavily impacted movie marketing. Sometimes it can be grating, like forcing contrived hashtags down people’s throats. But sometimes it can be smart, like the way filmmakers such as Zack Snyder and Bryan Singer tease images and first-looks from their highly anticipated upcoming films via their Twitter and Instagram handles. Director Paul Feig looks to be going a similar route with his Ghostbusters reboot, and after sharing an image of the new costumes last night, he’s now revealed a close-up look at the film’s iteration of the proton pack.

The proton pack is, of course, the device that allows for all the ghost-busting in the first place, as it captures spirits and drives them into ghost traps. Much like the reboot’s costumes, this new proton pack is very similar to the original. There are a few cosmetic upgrades, but the overall shape is the same, and I really like how the pack has a worn/handmade quality to it. One of the things that made the original Ghostbusters so endearing was that they were operating solely on their own volition, without help from the government or some lab that created their gadgets. They made everything themselves, and it showed.

It’s neat that Feig is sharing these first-looks on his Twitter, but I do hope we get an official look at the cast soon. For now, check out the proton pack below. Ghostbusters stars Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, and Chris Hemsworth and opens in theaters on July 22, 2016. Click here for all of our Ghostbusters coverage.
