Director Paul Feig has been having a tough time with Ghostbusters "fans" and journalists alike lately. The first camp isn't actually fans of the franchise or Feig's new interpretation of it, they're actually just hateful misogynists and body shamers who Feig eventually told to fuck themselves, to use his words. Equally irritating to Feig are those folks who have been leaking cameo appearances of the original cast. Can you blame the guy for being frustrated? Because of that, he decided to confirm another cast member himself.

What we know with absolutely certainty is that Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones, and Kate McKinnon will be starring in the lead roles, along with Chris Hemsworth. I'm personally looking forward to seeing more from the movie than just leaked surprises and hate directed at the all-female reboot. With the film opening on July 15, 2016, it shouldn't be too many more months until we get a trailer to give us a better sense of tone ... and to give haters more ammunition. At least now the cast seems to be set, especially in light of Feig's newest reveal.

Feig himself tried to get out in front of this leak with the following tweet:

What we know for sure is that Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, and Sigourney Weaver are all on board with the reboot, and are planning cameos. Annie Potts also has a scene in the film, according to a production wrap report from the Boston Herald. (Fingers crossed for Rick Moranis now!) We don't quite know how these cameos are going to play out, as in whether it will be a symbolic hand-off of the franchise or if it will be something completely separate from the original films, but it's a move that should go a long way towards appeasing fans of the old and new casts.
