We’ve got a few casting stories to attend to this morning.  Briefly:

  • Model/actress Emily Ratajkowski, who appeared in the buzz-about music video for “Blurred Lines,” is set to play Andie opposite Ben Affleck in David Fincher’s Gone Girl.
  • American Horror Story actress Lily Rabe has been cast as Commander Lyme in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Parts 1 & 2.
  • The Walking Dead actress Laurie Holden will be playing the female lead in the comedy sequel Dumb and Dumber To opposite Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels.
  • Actor Riz Ahmed (Four Lions) will star alongside Jake Gyllenhaal in Nightcrawler.

Per The Wrap, Emily Ratajkowski has been cast in the integral role of Andie in David Fincher’s adaptation of the Gillian Flynn novel Gone Girl.  Ben Affleck stars as a man who becomes the focus of an intense investigation when his wife goes missing under mysterious circumstances.  Rosamund Pike, Tyler Perry, and Neil Patrick Harris also star.

Lionsgate has announced that Lily Rabe has been added to the growing cast of director Francis Lawrence’s The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Parts 1 & 2.  Lyme is a former Hunger Games victor who becomes a strong leader in the resistance movement.  The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 opens in theaters November 2014.

Deadline reports that The Walking Dead star Laurie Holden has landed a co-starring role in Peter and Bobby Farrelly’s comedy follow-up Dumb and Dumber To.  Holden will play a character named Adele Pichlow, “the well to do wife of a doctor who is up to no good and who plans to use Harry and Lloyd to cover her tracks.”

Finally, The Wrap reports that The Reluctant Fundamentalist star Riz Ahmed is joining Jake Gyllenhaal in the dark thriller Nightcrawler.  Marking the directorial debut of Dan Gilroy, the film follows a driven young man who discovers the nocturnal world of L.A. freelance crime journalism.  The cast also includes Bill Paxton and Rene Russo.
