Disney-Pixar showcased their next film, The Good Dinosaur, at the D23 convention today, and they’ve released a new image that shows off a formidable breed of dinosaur. Directed by Peter Sohn (Partly Cloudy), the buddy comedy takes place in a world in which the asteroid didn’t smash into Earth millions of years ago, leaving the dinosaurs intact. The story revolves around a dinosaur named Arlo who, after a traumatic event unsettles his family, sets out on a journey with an unlikely companion—a human boy.

We’ve seen from the trailer that the film will blend photo-realistic landscapes with cartoonish-looking characters, and this new image shows off the latter. It appears that, while they’re aggressive creatures, the T-Rexes in this film (voiced by Anna Paquin, Sam Elliott, and A.J. Buckley) will be friendlies to Arlo and his “pet boy” Spot. I’m still not convinced the combination of animation techniques will be a winning one, but the trailer for the film certainly had a nice emotional vibe to it so I’m looking forward to checking out the movie regardless.

Take a look at the new photo below. The Good Dinosaur opens in theaters on November 25th and also features the voices of Raymond Ochoa,Jeffrey Wright, Steve Zahn, Frances McDormand, Marcus Scribner, and Jack Bright.
