Disney-Pixar has released the latest The Good Dinosaur trailer online. Directed by Peter Sohn (Partly Cloudy), the buddy comedy takes place in a world in which the asteroid didn’t smash into Earth millions of years ago, leaving the dinosaurs intact. The story revolves around a dinosaur named Arlo who, after a traumatic event unsettles his family, sets out on a journey with an unlikely companion—a human boy.

The most striking thing about this trailer—aside from the lack of dialogue and no story details—is the gulf between the lush, realistic setting and the cartoony-looking characters. It’s almost like this is Pixar’s spin on The Croods except instead of pandering to children, they’re going for emotional overload. I don’t even know these characters, but I don’t want that cute dinosaur to drown even if he looks completely out of sync with his environment.

Check out The Good Dinosaur trailer below along with a new image. The film opens in 3D on November 25th, and features the voices of Raymond Ochoa, Jeffrey Wright, Steve Zahn, A.J. Buckley, Anna Paquin, Sam Elliott, Frances McDormand, Marcus Scribner, and Jack Bright.
