On Sunday afternoon at New York Comic-Con I was able to participate in a group interview with Gotham’s Ben McKenzie and James Frain. If you’re not aware, McKenzie plays Jim Gordon and James Frain is a new addition to the show in season 2 and let’s just say he’s not a nice man.

During the interview McKenzie talked about his relationship with Michael Chiklis’ character that just joined the show, his relationship with Bruce Wayne and a specific scene from this season, how Gordon is tested this year in ways he wasn’t in the first season, and how they went into the second season trying to examine what worked and what didn’t in the first season and adjust the character accordingly. In addition, Frain talked about the quality of the scripts.

While I had issues with the first season of Gotham, I’ll admit season two has been a marked improvement in terms of character development and story. It’s definitely worth a second chance if you stopped watching.

Here’s the interview. Gotham airs Monday nights on Fox.
