The first trailer, clip and poster for writer/director Daniel Algrant's Greetings from Tim Buckley are now available.  The film stars Penn Badgley (Gossip Girl) as a young Jeff Buckley in the early 90s who gets to know a young woman (Imogen Poots) while rehearsing for a tribute show to his late father folk-singer Tim Buckley.  As Jeff attempts to form his own identity in the shadow of the legacy of a man he barely knew, he also finds comfort in this new relationship as they explore New York City.  The film also stars Ben Rosenfield in flashbacks to the elder Buckley's 1960s experiences.  Hit the jump for the trailer, clip and poster.

GREETINGS FROM TIM BUCKLEY is a mesmerizing portrayal of two generations of musicians. In 1991, a young Jeff Buckley (Penn Badgley, "Gossip Girl") rehearses for his public singing debut at a Brooklyn tribute show for his father, the late folk singer Tim Buckley. Struggling with the legacy of a man he barely knew, Jeff finds solace in a relationship with an enigmatic young woman (Imogen Poots, 28 Weeks Later) working at the show. As they explore New York City, their adventures recall glimpses of Tim’s (Ben Rosenfield) 1960s heyday.
