In a recent video interview for his cooking drama Burnt, star Bradley Cooper was reported as having let slip a big spoiler from James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. In an unprecedented movie, the Internet may have overreacted for the first time in history. When asked about the sequel, Cooper talks about Josh Brolin as the "main villain" in the film who played "what's his name's dad ... the Dark Lord?" Some folks have taken this to mean that Thanos is not only confirmed as the Big Bad in the sequel, but that he's Star-Lord's dad.

What it actually sounds like is that Cooper hasn't brushed up on the Guardians of the Galaxy plot lately and is confusing Ronan the Accuser for Star-Lord. To be fair, Cooper himself admits that he might be wrong and is remembering things incorrectly. This seems to be the more likely story since Ronan is Thanos' son in some corners of the Marvel Comics universe, though I'm not certain this is the case in Gunn's film version.
