Marvel has released the first trailer and poster for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Written and directed by James Gunn, the follow-up reunites Guardians Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket and Baby Groot as they battle a new threat in search of Peter Quill’s father. The movie opens in theatres on May 5, 2017.

Janna Marbott writes:

Greetings and salutations Collider Crew. Like most of you guys I really liked the first Jack Reacher movie and have been excited for the new one. Have you guys had the chance to see it yet? If so, what did you think. Thanks and keep up the amazing work!

Should Universal be worried about Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed bombing at the box office? There was so much negativity with first one I wonder if people are still going to see these two films. The second one is going up against The Lego Batman Movie and John Wick: Chapter Two on the same weekend.

AMC REWIND

10 Years Ago – Flags of Our Fathers, Marie Antoinette, The Prestige

20 Years Ago – Sleepers, Swingers, To Gillian on Her 37th Birthday

Hello Collider crew!! I have watched you guys since the AMC days, and I think you all do an excellent job with the show!! My question is about Creed 2. I absolutely love the Rocky series, and I saw Creed six times in theaters! I would love. Nothing more than to have Ryan Coogler direct the sequel, but I know that's not gonna happen. I think Harloff has a great idea with Gavin O Connor directing, but what about Stallone directing? As far as I know there's no rush on Expendables 4, and I don't think there's anything else he's working on. Would love to hear your thoughts!

It's no secret that the last few installments in the Pirates of the Caribbean and Transformers franchises have been sub-par to say the least but somehow these movies continue to get made. With a trailer out for Pirates: Dead Men Tell No Tales and new details revealed for Transformers: The Last Knight, which of these two movies (if either) do you think has the best chance to revitalize their respective franchise? Thanks for taking my question and keep bringing that sweet, sweet filthy!

Hey Collider Crew! After the horrible Masterminds and the dour, sour reviews with Keeping Up With The Joneses are we done with Zach Galifianakis on a cinematic level? Has his Hangover good will run out?

Edmond Suzuki writes:

I'm a big fan of both Marvel and DC. Every movie either puts out is a major event to me. Like Campea, I enjoyed all 3 current DC films, but even as a fan I acknowledge that they are trailing far behind Marvel right now in terms of quality. I loved the Wonder Woman and Justice League trailers, but trailers don't mean too much. So I need to hear your wisdom. What does WB have to do at this point to catch up to Marvel? How do they get back on the right track? Thanks!

Ryan Clarke writes:

I was looking at upcoming movie release dates and November 4th caught my eye because it has 3 major releases: Hacksaw Ridge, Trolls, and Doctor Strange. So my question to you guys is what movie do you think will be #1 at the box office that weekend? Will Marvel keep their streak of being #1 alive or will one of other films come out on top? Would love to hear your guys thought on this.
