Guardians of the Galaxy doesn’t arrive until Friday, but Marvel’s clearly got high hopes for the property because not only did the studio confirm a sequel for July 28, 2017, but now they’re finally moving forward with that rumored Guardians of the Galaxy animated series, too.  There’s no word on when it will air, but during San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Animation and Disney XD did share a one-minute preview of the show.

Disney XD also renewed Marvel’s Avengers Assemble and Marvel’s Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. for second seasons, both of which are due to premiere in the fall.  Avengers Assemble features the voices of Adrian Pasdar, Fred Tatasciore, Roger Craig Smith, and Troy Baker while Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. has got Tatasciore, Clancy Brown, Seth Green and Eliza Dushku.  Hit the jump for more.

Deadline didn’t have any details on the plot for the Guardians of the Galaxy show nor information on who will be voicing the characters, but Peter Quill, Gamora, Rocket Raccoon, Groot and Drax have all appeared on Avengers Assemble and were voiced by Chris Cox, Nika Futterman, Green, Kevin Michael Richardson and David Sobolov respectively there, so perhaps they’ll carry over to this show as well.  Cox, Futterman and Sobolov also voiced the characters on Disney XD’s Ultimate Spider-Man.  You can check out Rocket and Star-Lord in action on the show in the video below:
