Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy introduced the title heroes to a new generation of fans when James Gunn’s film entertained audiences last summer. The bad news is that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 won’t open until May 5, 2017; the good news is that you can get your Guardians fix with Disney XD’s new animated series. As a teaser/treat, we have the first preview for the new cartoon right here for you to check out.

The animated series will feature the familiar space travelers with all new voices. Will Friedle stars as Peter Quill/Star-Lord, Trevor Devall voices Rocket Raccoon, with Vanessa Marshall as Gamora, David Sobolov as Drax the Destroyer, Kevin Michael Richardson as Groot, and James Arnold Taylor as Yondu and Cosmo. (Yes, Cosmo.) Guardians of the Galaxy will debut with two back-to-back episodes on Saturday, September 26th at 9:30pm ET/PT on Disney XD. You can get a sneak preview of the first episode on Saturday, September 5th at 9:00pm ET/PT. As an added tease, short clips introducing the main characters will air on Disney XD every Saturday night in August leading up to the sneak preview.

This fall, Guardians of the Galaxy will join Disney XD’s Avengers Assemble, Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. and Ultimate Spider-Man in the Marvel Universe block. Don’t expect any of the above-mentioned shows to be canon as it pertains to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but if you’re looking for your superhero fix, you can do worse than checking out these animated series.
