It looks like a Guardians of the Galaxy attraction really could be coming to Disney California Adventure - but it won’t be built from scratch. According to MiceAge, the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror ride will be redesigned to make room for Guardians.

Apparently the Walt Disney Imagineering team has been testing the idea for months. The project still needs a green light, but as MiceAge notes, at this point, the only thing that could stop that from happening is a disappointing Shanghai opening summer.

Assuming the new attraction gets the go-ahead, you can expect Tower of Terror to shut down in the fall so that Disney can refurbish the entire interior and exterior of the building and have the Guardians ride ready to open in May 2017, just in time for the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 premiere at Disney California Adventure.

As for the narrative of the ride, MiceAge is reporting that it’ll be based around The Collector while /Film heard a rumor that the ride was being themed as the Kyln, the interstellar prison run by the Nova Corps.

Are you cool with Disney shutting down such an iconic ride to bring in Guardians? And what about the theme? Do you want the Kyln or The Collector? Sound off below.
