May 13, 2010

If you like scheduling well in advance, this news item is for you.  Warner Bros. has provided the tentative release dates The Factory, Unknown White Male, The Rite, Hall Pass, Horrible Bosses, while Disney has set their dates for Winnie the Pooh and Reboot Ralph.  For the dates and details on all of these films, hit the jump.

Okay, I misled you a bit for the sake of brevity.  The Factory was previously slated for January 28, 2011, but now has no release date.  Factory is about a cop (John Cusack) on the trail of a serial killer and then the killer kidnaps his daughter (Mae Whitman).  The film has not had an easy road.  Cusack came on board Principal photography wrapped in 2008.  It’s sat on a shelf since then.

However, you shouldn’t have to worry about the next film, Unknown White Male, which is now penciled in for January 7, 2011.  The flick stars Liam Neeson, January Jones, Aidan Quinn, and Diane Kruger.  Here’s the synopsis:

Liam Neeson stars as Dr. Martin Harris, who awakens after a car accident in Berlin to discover that his wife (January Jones) suddenly doesn’t recognize him and another man (Aidan Quinn) has assumed his identity. Ignored by disbelieving authorities and hunted by mysterious assassins, he finds himself alone, tired, and on the run. Aided by an unlikely ally (Diane Kruger), Martin plunges headlong into a deadly mystery that will force him to question his sanity, his identity, and just how far he’s willing to go to uncover the truth.

Next up, we have The Rite, which will open on January 28, 2011.  The film stars Anthony Hopkins as an expert exorcist who helps a young Seminary student fight demons.  It will also star Ciaran Hinds, Toby Jones, and Alice Braga.

Moving on, we have the Farrelly Brothers’ Hall Pass, due to open on February 25, 2011 and starring Owen Wilson, Jason Sudeikis, Jenna Fischer, and Christina Applegate.  The film is about a couple who attempts to liven up their marriage by the wife giving the husband a “hall pass”, which allows him to engage in extramarital affairs for a whole week.

Then we have the dark comedy Horrible Bosses, which is set to star Jason Bateman, Charlie Day, Jason Sudekis, Jennifer Aniston, Jamie Foxx, and Colin Farrell, and is set to hit theaters on July 29, 2011.  Directed by Seth Gordon, the flick is about three men who decided to kill each other’s bosses.

Wrapping up, two animated Disney flicks: Winnie the Pooh on July 15, 2011 and Reboot Ralph (in Disney Digital 3D) on March 22, 2013.
