A full-length international trailer for NBC’s upcoming series Hannibal has been released online, and it’s pretty great.  The show comes from Pushing Daisies creator Bryan Fuller and explores the early relationship between the renowned psychiatrist Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen) and his patient, a young FBI criminal profiler named Will Graham (Hugh Dancy), who is haunted by his ability to empathize with serial killers.  This trailer does a great job of setting up the plot for the series, and I’m interested to see how heavy the show's procedural aspect is.  If nothing else, the character interactions look to be incredibly entertaining.

Fuller has long-term plans for the show—which is based on Thomas Harris’ series of novels—as he initially pitched a seven-season arc to NBC that includes dynamic changes throughout the series run (ie. Lecter will be outed as a serial killer long before the show ends).  Hit the jump to watch the trailer.  Hannibal also stars Laurence Fishbourne and premieres on NBC on April 4th at 10pm.
