Over the past few days, the principal cast of the highly anticipated stage play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has been revealed one by one, and today the last major piece of the puzzle arrives in the form of the Malfoys. Yes indeed, Draco is back in the Harry Potter follow-up, which takes place 19 years after the events of Daethly Hallows and follows famous wizard Harry Potter as he grapples with the past, as well as his youngest son Albus Severus, who is struggling with the weight of family legacy.

Our first look at the cast arrived in the form of Jamie Parker as the adult Harry Potter, Poppy Miller as Ginny Potter, and Sam Clemmett as Albus Severus, and yesterday we got our first look at Noma Dumezweni’s Hermione Granger-Weasley, Paul Thornley’s Ron Weasley, and Cherrelle Skeete’s Rose Granger-Weasley.

Today we’ve got Alex Price as Draco Malfoy and Anthony Boyle as his son Scorpius. Curiously absent from this family portrait is Draco’s wife, Astoria Greengrass, whose absence may signal a minor or nonexistent part in this play. Whatever the case, it’ll certainly be interesting to see what Draco’s made of himself all these years later, as he turned out to be one of the most tragic characters in J.K. Rowling’s epic saga. And will his son Scorpius be a thorn in Albus’ side just as Draco was to Harry, or is Draco’s offspring forging a different path?

The stage play begins preview performances at London’s Palace Theater on June 7th ahead of its premiere on July 30th, but fear not spoilerphobes: the full play will be available to purchase in written form on July 31st.

Based on an original new story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, a new play by Jack Thorne, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is the eighth story in the Harry Potter series and the first official Harry Potter story to be presented on stage. The play will receive its world premiere in London’s West End on July 30, 2016.

It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children.

While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.
