Tickets went on sale today for "Harry Potter: The Exhibition", a museum-worthy collection of costumes, props and re-created set pieces that span the history of the "Harry Potter" film franchise. The exhibition, a partial production of Warner Brothers Consumer Products, will open next April 30th in Chicago's Museum of Science and Industry.

"Harry Potter: The Exhibition" will run in Chicago through September 7th and will feature recreations of some of Hogwart's best-known hot spots including Hagrid's Hut and the Gryffindor Common Room. After its run in Chicago, Warner Products hopes to book it into other cities – along with new additions from the final films. The Museum of Science and Industry has devoted 10,000 square feet of space to the hundreds of costumes and props the exhibition encompasses – any one of which would blow the museum's best-known former exhibit, "Coal Mine: The Experience", right out of the shaft.

Tickets for the debut run in Chicago can only be purchased online, and you should know that they are not cheap. If you would like to attend during regular museum hours, for example, you will be paying $26 per adult and $19 for every child 3-11 (If you haven't been paying attention to our criminal court system, 12 year olds now count as adults in Illinois). If, on the other hand, you want to come in at night to view the "one of a kind" displays you will only have to come up with $18 for adults and $15 for those eleven and under. Wow! Heard of that recession people?

Take a look at the new pictures Warner Brothers Consumer Products sent us of The Great Hall and Harry's side of the Gryffindor Common Room to see if you think "Harry Potter: The Exhibition" looks worth the money. Of course, it's hard to judge from a few artists' renderings... but personally, I think that grey hoodie looks pretty dope hanging next to the totally visible Invisibility Cloak…
