A new teaser trailer has been released for creator Ronald D. Moore’s forthcoming SyFy series titled Helix. This teaser is bound to cause some excitement amongst Sci-Fi fans considering the fact that Moore’s wildly successful Emmy award-winning Battlestar Galactica had a cult following of Joss Whedon proportions.
Helix follows team of scientists from the Centers for Disease Control travel to a high-tech research facility in the Arctic to investigate a possible disease outbreak. The ending of the teaser hints that the scientists’ discovery could change the world or end it, ending with the suspenseful tag line “the truth will spread,” evoking the imagery of disease. Helix begins production early in 2013 to debut early next year.
Helix comes from some of the most notable names in the sci-fi world. It is Executive Produced by Ronald D. Moore (Battlestar Galactica), Lynda Obst (Sleepless in Seattle, Contact), and Steven Maeda (Lost, CSI: Miami, The X-Files). Cameron Porsandeh, who wrote the pilot, will serve as Co-Executive Producer.
