Summit Entertainment has released a pair of new Hellboy posters in anticipation of a new trailer that’s hitting tonight at midnight ET. The film is, of course, a new adaptation of the popular comics run that is not connected in any way to Guillermo del Toro’s two previous films. Comics creator Mike Mignola produced this new film, which hails from The Descent director Neil Marshall and finds Stranger Things star David Harbour stepping into the big red shoes previously worn by Ron Perlman.

We know one major difference between this film and del Toro’s is an R-rating, which the MPAA confirmed yesterday is due to “strong bloody violence and gore throughout.” These posters certainly throw a lot of red at you, and I’m curious to see if tonight’s new trailer will be red-band in nature, offering up a true look at what the film actually is.

For now, take a look at the new Hellboy posters below along with a trailer teaser and come back later to watch the new trailer. Written by Andrew Cosby, the film also stars Milla Jovovich, Ian McShane, Sasha Lane, Penelope Mitchell, and Daniel Dae Kim. Hellboy opens in theaters on April 12th.

Here’s the official synopsis for Hellboy:

Hellboy is back, and he’s on fire. From the pages of Mike Mignola’s seminal work, this action packed story sees the legendary half-demon superhero (David Harbour, “Stranger Things”) called to the English countryside to battle a trio of rampaging giants. There he discovers The Blood Queen, Nimue (Milla Jovovich, Resident Evil series), a resurrected ancient sorceress thirsting to avenge a past betrayal. Suddenly caught in a clash between the supernatural and the human, Hellboy is now hell-bent on stopping Nimue without triggering the end of the world.
