NBC has released a new trailer for Heroes Reborn, a mini-series and spin-off-cum-reboot of NBC's initially promising but ultimately dimwitted Heroes, and there looks to be quite a lot going on in the footage we get to glean here. The return of Hiro (Masi Oka) would seemingly be the most exciting prospect of the trailer, especially since he looks like he studied with the League of Shadows since we last left him. There's also quite a lot of shots of Zachary Levi's Luke Collins, a new character that creator Tom Kring has been careful not to give too much of a read on. The new effort to save humankind that will likely make up the main conflict of the story is seemingly headed by Ryan Guzman's unnamed supernatural prophet, whose call for more heroes is used as voiceover throughout the trailer. Of course, there's no real sense of what the story will be like in the trailer, but we do know that major characters like The Haitian, Molinder Suresh, and Noah Bennett. For the rest of the story, NBC has also released a full synopsis that you can read below, giving us just a small first taste as to what Kring has in store for his next act.

Here's the official NBC synopsis:

A year ago, a terrorist attack in Odessa, Texas, left the city decimated. Blamed for the tragic event, those with extraordinary abilities are in hiding or on the run from those with nefarious motives.

Two such vigilantes include Luke (Zachary Levi, “Chuck”) and Joanne (Judith Shekoni, “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2”), who are seeking to avenge a tragic loss.

Noah Bennet, aka H.R.G. (Jack Coleman, “Heroes”), has gone off the grid but conspiracy theorist Quentin Frady (Henry Zebrowski, “A to Z”) finds him and opens his eyes to the truth behind the Odessa tragedy.
