It’s been nearly two years since a new episode of the Funny or Die series Between Two Ferns was released, but a surprise return is upon us as Zach Galifianakis is back in the interview chair, this time hosting presidential nominee Hillary Clinton. Indeed, the last episode of Between Two Ferns was in October 2014 with Brad Pitt and Louis C.K., and the episode before that was months earlier with Galifianakis’ biggest get yet, President Barack Obama.

While the web-series began in 2008 as a semi-regular absurdist outlet for celebrities to promote whatever movie or TV show they had going on at the time, Galifianakis became mighty busy after the 2009 release of The Hangover. Episodes became less frequent but no less hilarious, and it’s been interesting to see Galifianakis’ career path post-The Hangover. He balanced his time with studio comedies like Dinner for Schmucks and Due Date as well as more dramatic turns in films like It’s Kind of a Funny Story and Are You Here, and recently he’s turned his attention to the small screen, creating and starring in the FX comedy series Baskets. He hasn’t entirely turned his back on Hollywood though, as he stars opposite Jon Hamm in the upcoming spy comedy Keeping Up with the Joneses and voices The Joker in The LEGO Batman Movie, but it’s nice to see Galifianakis turn his attention back to Between Two Ferns after a long hiatus.

This segment, unsurprisingly, is really funny. Galifianakis’ deadpan humor is spot-on, and he “grills” Clinton with questions that come right up to the line of controversy before spinning off into the absurdist realm. And while we’re going to be hard-pressed to find another president with as keen a sense of comedic timing as Obama, Clinton does a solid job of playing along. Check out the video below.
