Universal Pictures' Fast & Furious franchise spinoff has a mouthful of a title, officially named Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, but that won't stop audiences from coming out in droves to see it this summer. In it, Dwayne Johnson returns as Hobbs, teaming up with Jason Statham’s Deckard Shaw after their successful on-screen chemistry and positive audience response to their pairing in Fate of the Furious. While plot points are still non-existent at this point, we do have a new behind-the-scenes image to share with you today. And it's intense.

The new image, out of context, features Johnson going beast mode in Samoa, which is just one of a few locations the film will visit for its globe-trotting production schedule. Others include sets in the U.S., plus London, Russia, and Ukraine. How all of this factors into the film remains to be seen, but it's clear that Johnson's in fighting shape for the flick, as always.

Deadpool 2 director David Leitch directs from a script by Chris Morgan, the franchise’s screenwriting architect since Tokyo Drift. Also starring Vanessa Kirby as Deckard's sister Hattie and Idris Elba as Brixton, the villain of the piece, Hobbs & Shaw hits theaters on August 2, 2019.

Here's a taste of the production of Hobbs & Shaw with a behind-the-scenes shot courtesy of producer Hiram Garcia:
