Showtime has released four new posters for the upcoming third season of Homeland, and I cannot wait to catch up with Carrie, Brody, and Saul next month.  Sure season two had its ups and downs, but what I love about Homeland is that the show just goes for it; stories that you would expect to play out over the course of an entire season climax after just a few episodes, and stellar performances by Claire Danes, Damian Lewis, Mandy Patinkin, and even Morgan Saylor sell the nuttiness that ensues.

Hit the jump to check out four new posters for the season, and if you missed it click here to watch the excellent debut trailer.  Season three of Homeland premieres on Showtime Sunday, September 29th.

Here’s the official synopsis for Homeland season three:

HOMELAND tells the story of Carrie Mathison (Danes), a CIA officer battling her own demons, who becomes convinced that the intelligence that led to the rescue of U.S. soldier, then Congressman, now fugitive, Nicholas Brody (Lewis) was a setup and may be connected to an Al Qaeda plot to be carried out on American soil. Season three opens during the aftermath of the horrific terror attack that decimated the U.S. intelligence apparatus, and prompted a global manhunt for the world’s most wanted terrorist, Nick Brody. As Carrie and Saul (Patinkin) begin to pick up the pieces of their shattered professional and personal lives, they are swept up in the political and media firestorm surrounding the terror attack and the subsequent search for Brody’s whereabouts.
