DreamWorks Animation has released the first official poster for the upcoming sequel How to Train Your Dragon 2.  The movie picks up five years after the first installment, and has Hiccup (Jay Baruchel) and Toothless exploring new territories while the rest of his friends are enjoying dragon races.  During one of Hiccup and Toothless’ journeys, they discover a secret ice cave, hundreds of new wild dragons, and the mysterious Dragon Rider.  Due to its high quantity of features, DreamWorks Animation is a bit of a hit and miss studio, but they hit big with 2010’s excellent How to Train Your Dragon.  It’s great to see the evolved character design of Hiccup in this first poster for the follow-up, and a proper theatrical trailer will probably be heading our way soon.

Miller, Djimon Hounsou, and Kristen Wiig.  How to Train Your Dragon 2 opens in 3D on June 13, 2014.
