The I Know What You Did Last Summer has had three movies so far. The first one is a cult classic while the others... not so much. In the context of the Amazon series, only the first movie is actually important but all three are currently available to stream on Amazon Prime Video. Here's what you need to know about each:

I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997): A loose adaptation of the novel, I Know What You Did Last Summer was directed by Jim Gillespie and written by Kevin Williamson. The movie stars Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillippe, Freddie Prinze Jr., Johnny Galecki, Muse Watson, and Bridgette Wilson. The film that set the story for all the latter adaptations, I Know What You Did Last Summer tells the story of a group of friends who accidentally killed a man and covered it up, only to find themselves stalked by a killer one year later. It's inspired copycats, remakes, and spoofs aplenty and the movie was a runaway success when it was first released. Does it still hold up after all these years? That's for you to decide but it's definitely better than the sequels.

I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (1998): Set exactly one year after the previous film, I Still Know What You Did Last Summer features a mix of old and new characters being stalked by the same killer all the way to The Bahamas. The cast members on the sequel were Jennifer Love Hewitt, Freddie Prinze Jr., Muse Watson, Brandy, Mekhi Phifer, Bill Cobbs, and Matthew Settle, among others. I Still Know What You Did Last Summer was critically panned and nowhere near as successful as its predecessor, although it did make some money at the box office.

I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer (2006): This direct-to-video adaptation had a completely new cast and while it is technically a follow-up to I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, it's more or less a separate story. The movie was directed by Sylvain White and stars Brooke Nevin, David Paetkau, Torrey DeVitto, Ben Easter, and Don Shanks. I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer was pretty much a well-rounded failure, receiving criticism for practically every aspect. You could still watch it, if only for some campy enjoyment, but if you're expecting a proper horror movie, you might as well skip it. If you still want to see it, well...
