Following yesterday's EW covers and new images, Disney has now released an extended featurette for Rob Marshall's adaptation of Stephen Sondheim's classic musical Into the Woods.  The Disney production stars James Corden and Emily Blunt as a Baker and his wife who venture into the woods to confront the witch (Meryl Streep) responsible for putting a curse on the childless couple.  Along the way, they run into a number of familiar fairy tale characters, all of whom have wishes to change their lives.  While I'll admit that Johnny Depp's costume and makeup for the Big Bad Wolf continue to plunge the actor into self-parody, the rest of the movie looks surprisingly great.  This featurette really sells not only the fantastic visuals, but also shows that this is a true ensemble piece.  The featurette also provides the first time we're hearing the actors sing some of the songs, and they sound terrific.

Hit the jump to watch the Into the Woods extended featurette.  The film opens December 25th, and also stars Anna Kendrick, Chris Pine, Lucy Punch, Lilla CrawfordMackenzie Mauzy, Daniel HuttlestoneTracey Ullman, and Christine Baranski.

Here's the official synopsis for Into the Woods:

“Into the Woods” is a modern twist on the beloved Brothers Grimm fairy tales, intertwining the plots of a few choice stories and exploring the consequences of the characters’ wishes and quests. This humorous and heartfelt musical follows the classic tales of Cinderella (Anna Kendrick), Little Red Riding Hood (Lilla Crawford), Jack and the Beanstalk (Daniel Huttlestone), and Rapunzel (MacKenzie Mauzy)—all tied together by an original story involving a baker and his wife (James Corden & Emily Blunt), their wish to begin a family and their interaction with the witch (Meryl Streep) who has put a curse on them.
