The new Netflix limited series, Inventing Anna, tells the true story of Anna Delvey, a con-artist who pretends to be a German heiress to steal the money from New York’s rich elite. This Shonda Rhimes-led series is both intriguing and exciting for anyone looking for a quick binge-watch.

Julia Garner (Anna)

Emmy-Award-winning Julia Garner stars as the titular role, Anna, a Russian-born German Con-Artist in Inventing Anna on Netflix. Garner is mostly known for her role as Ruth Langmore in the crime drama series Ozark with Jason Bateman, which has been airing on Netflix since 2017. Garner seems to thrive in drama series, having had roles in the FX Drama Series The Americans, another Netflix series Maniac, true crime anthology series Dirty John, and others.

Her film credits include The Assistant and the widely-popular teen coming-of-age movie Perks of Being a Wallflower. In 2022, she was cast in the upcoming thriller film Apartment 7A directed by Natalie Erika James.

Anna Chlumsky (Vivian)

Emmy-nominated actress Anna Chlumsky plays Vivian, the reporter who writes the bombshell piece on con artist Anna. Chlumsky has done work in many mediums, including live theatre as well. However, she is mostly known for her comedy roles, the most famous being Amy Brookheimer in HBO’s workplace comedy about the Vice President of the United States, Veep (which earned her 6 Emmy Award Nominations).

In addition to Veep, she has had guest star roles in Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, a small stint as Miriam Lass on Hannibal, and voices Charlotte Pickles in the new Rugrats reboot. She is set to star in an Untitled John Logan film in the future.

Laverne Cox (Kacy Duke)

LGBTQ+ Advocate and the first Trans Actor to be nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for acting Laverne Cox stars as Kacy Duke, Anna’s personal trainer. Cox began her career on Netflix’s Orange is the New Black as Sophia Burset, a trans woman in prison for credit card fraud. Because of the show’s popularity, she became an icon for Trans people everywhere and spoke about representation for LGBTQ-identifying individuals.

She has also been seen in Dear White People, A Black Lady Sketch Show, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and the movie Promising Young Woman. She was recently cast in Netflix’s dystopian fantasy film Uglies based on the book by Scott Westerfeld.

Katie Lowes (Rachel)

Katie Lowes plays Rachel, a photo-editor, in Inventing Anna. She is most well-known for her role as Quinn Perkins/Lindsay Dwyer on the Shonda Rhimes political drama Scandal from 2012-2018. She has had many guest roles on top shows like NCIS, Grey’s Anatomy, and voiced Commander Ladnok in Netflix’s Voltron: Legendary Defender.

In addition to her many television credits, her voice has been heard in numerous popular animated films like Disney’s Frozen, Wreck-It Ralph, Big Hero 6, Zootopia, Ralph Breaks the Internet, and Vivo. In addition to her part in Inventing Anna, she is currently starring in How We Roll as a series regular.

Alexis Floyd (Neff)

Alexis Floyd is Neff, Anna Delvey’s real best friend, in Inventing Anna. Floyd is a relatively new actor, having kicked off a professional career in the 2019 Freeform show The Bold Type.

Since then, she’s been involved in other series such as Dickinson on AppleTV+ and Boy Shorts before being cast in Inventing Anna. She has just completed filming for two shorts that have now entered into their post-production phases.

Arian Moayed (Todd Spodek)

Todd Spodek, Anna Delvey’s lawyer in Inventing Anna, is phenomenally portrayed by actor Arian Moayed. Moayed is not at all new to the acting scene, having starred (and is currently starring) in many famous Broadway productions before entering the TV/Film industry. After starting a theatre education company in Manhattan, Moayed starred opposite Robin Williams in the Broadway play, Benghal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo (for which he received a Tony Award).

He also starred in the tony-award winning play The Humans at the Roundabout Theatre. Since 2018, he has starred as Stewy Hosseini, a private equity investor, in HBO’s smash-hit show Succession. Moayed is currently filming a thriller film titled Retribution.

Anders Holm (Jack)

Anders Christian Holm plays Vivian’s (Chlumsky) husband Jack in Inventing Anna. Holm comes from a comedy background, having studied at the Second City Conservatory improv school in Los Angeles. He co-created and starred in the comedy show Workaholics as Anders Holmvik on Comedy Central from 2013-2017.

He has been featured in a variety of comedy shows including Key and Peele, Zack in Modern Family, Supervisor Spoon in Arrested Development, and Soren Knausgaard in Brooklyn Nine-Nine. He also played the role of Matt Ostin in the Robert De Niro-Anne Hathaway film The Intern. Holm is currently filming a comedy film (also starring DeNiro) called About My Father.

Saamer Usmani (Chase Sikorski)

Chase Sikorski, Anna Delvey’s boyfriend in Inventing Anna, is portrayed by Saamer Usmani. Usmani has been acting professionally since 2012 and has been featured in many top television series.

He played Martin in Reign on CBS, Avery Watkins in the limited series What/If, and Prince Errol Swoon in Katy Keene. Similar to Moayed, Usmani also had a part in HBO’s Succession, playing Chris in the show’s second season.
