This morning, we have some new comments from stars Robert Downey Jr. and James Badge Dale about Iron Man 3.  Dale, who was last seen in Flight, plays the villain Eric Savin a.k.a. "Coldblood."  Speaking to Glow [via Just Jared], Dale talked a bit about the tone for the upcoming superhero sequel.  "[Iron Man 3] is really a dark comedy with a little bit of farce," said Dale. "The trick is to be able to have the audience relate to you. Director Shane Black gave me a long leash."  We've definitely seen the darkness from the recent trailer, but looking at Black's previous films, I'm sure the comedy will be present as well.Hit the jump for what Downey had to say about reuniting with Black and more.  Iron Man 3 opens in 3D on May 3, 2013.iron-man-3-posterAt the 24 hour Cinefamily Telethon [via CBM], Downey Jr. talked about the involvement of the Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang director dating back to the original Iron Man:

When we were doing the first Iron Man, Jon Favreau and I used to call up Shane Black. We had two lifeline calls; one was to J.J. Abrams, which was about the third act [of Iron Man]. And for the other call, we went to Shane’s house. We couldn’t afford him, so in exchange for helping us with a few key scenes, he asked for a piece of Salmon and fresh blueberries. For instance, in the Iron Man scene where Tony Stark comes back from captivity and calls a press conference, and then asked everybody to sit down, the speech Stark gives all came from Shane Black. So to get him to do Iron Man 3, it has just been this awesome experience and one of my favorite working experiences. Iron Man 3 is going to be a very, very bold genre film, from the storytelling.

Although Jon Favreau won't be returning to the director's chair, he has once again reprised his role as Happy Hogan, and Downey commented on the character's presence in Iron Man 3:

Happy has an amazing arc in this movie. In fact, probably the best two bits of acting in the movie, so far from what I can tell...which sucks because I’m in every frame, are Favreau as Happy Hogun...I can’t give away much, but it’s ridiculous.

In other Iron Man 3 news, the movie is shooting in Beijing, and a publicity photo has been released of actor Wang Xueqi, who plays Dr. Wu.  We don't know how much of a role Dr. Wu will play in the movie, but the photo helps to emphasize China's involvement in the film's production:
