The Russian trailer for Jack Reacher went online last week, but now we have it in English.  For those unfamiliar with the film, it's based on the novel One Shot by Lee Child, and stars Tom Cruise as the titular ex-military investigator who is tasked with tracking down a serial sniper. Watching this trailer, it's difficult to see Cruise as the "tough guy."  Yeah, he can kick-ass, but he doesn't come off as imposing.  Because of his physique, he can threaten from an intellectual standpoint.  He plays guys who know where to hit you as opposed to characters who will just beat the living snot of you.  The trailer makes Reacher look like any other Tom Cruise hero except he doesn't smile.Hit the jump to check out the trailer and two hi-res images.  The film also stars tars Rosamund Pike, Robert Duvall, Richard Jenkins, David Oyelowo, and Werner Herzog.  Jack Reacher opens December 21st.Click over to Yahoo!
