With co-writer/director Will Gluck’s Peter Rabbit opening in theaters this weekend, I recently sat down with James Corden for an exclusive video interview. He talked about how honored he was to voice Peter Rabbit, what people would be surprised to learn about the recording process, getting to work with Sandra Bullock in Ocean’s 8, if he prefers doing the interview or being interviewed, and a bit on the behind-the-scenes on the making of The Late Late Show with James Corden.

If you’re not familiar with Peter Rabbit, the film is based on the classic books by Beatrix Potter, and features the voices of James Corden, Margot Robbie, Daisy Ridley, Elizabeth Debicki, Matt Lucas and Sam Neill. The film is about Peter Rabbit (Corden) trying to get his hands on the vegetables in the garden next to where his family lives. Unfortunately, except for one sweet animal lover (Rose Byrne), the family running the garden (Domhnall Gleeson) wants nothing to do with the local rabbits, and their cantankerous relationship eventually comes to a head.

Check out what he had to say in the player above and below is exactly what we talked about followed by the synopsis.

James Corden

  • Which does he enjoy more being interviewed or doing the interview?
  • What would surprise people to learn about the making of Peter Rabbit?
  • How does he have the time to do more than his show?
  • Talks about being part of Oceans 8.
  • He gives me the chance to ask one last question and I wasn’t expecting it….so you can see me fail my way trying to ask about his show and how it’s put together.

Here’s the official synopsis for Peter Rabbbit:

Peter Rabbit, the mischievous and adventurous hero who has captivated generations of readers, now takes on the starring role of his own irreverent, contemporary comedy with attitude. In the film, Peter’s feud with Mr. McGregor (Domhnall Gleeson) escalates to greater heights than ever before as they rival for the affections of the warm-hearted animal lover who lives next door (Rose Byrne).  James Corden voices the character of Peter with playful spirit and wild charm, with Margot Robbie, Elizabeth Debicki, and Daisy Ridley performing the voice roles of the triplets, Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cottontail.
