Though director Jason Reitman took his time with his first few features, he’s certainly been picking up steam as of late.  His latest pic, Labor Day, opens wide this weekend, he’s already in the middle of production on his follow-up, the ensemble dramedy Men, Women & Children, and now he’s set to direct what could be his third book adaptation in a row, The PossibilitiesTHR reports that Indian Paintbrush and Reitman’s Right of Way Films have optioned The Descendents author Kaui Hart Hemmings’ upcoming novel The Possibilities with Reitman attached to direct.  The story takes place in a Colorado ski town and follows a mother struggling to overcome her son’s death who is visited by a strange girl “with a secret that will change them both.”

There’s no word on whether Reitman will pen the adaptation himself, but he’ll surely put together a swell cast.  Labor Day paired Josh Brolin and Kate Winslet, and Men, Women & Children stars Emma Thompson, Adam Sandler, and Jennifer Garner.
