The world was pretty lucky that David Levinson (Jeff Goldblum) showed up in Washington just in the nick of time back in 1996 and now the question is, can he save the planet again? Since the events of Independence Day, David has become the director of the Earth Space Defense program (ESD), a global defense unit where scientists are developing hybrid alien vehicles and weapon systems to better protect the world should the invaders return.Back in June I got the opportunity to visit the Albuquerque set of Independence Day: Resurgence and sit down with Goldblum to discuss what David is up to in the sequel, the new hybrid technology, why his wife Connie (Margaret Colin) isn't in the second movie and also about what he thinks might happen should aliens ever actually invade the Earth. You can catch all of that in the video below. Independence Day: Resurgence hits theaters on June 24th.[EMBED_COMPLEX][complextv contentid="E0MGhwMDE6MZyDfIC1NxB54zBkV0qfwh" sitename="collider" playerid="26aa5f02d93f4c05a4546f6d5ecb59b7" adsetid="67a3ff9d3a842ae818bb9de1badc5b0" width="640" height="360" keywords=""][/EMBED_COMPLEX]If you'd like to check out more from my Independence Day: Resurgence set visit, browse the links below:
