While mere mortals were playing a game of football at last night's Super Bowl 50, some all-powerful mutants were busy waging a world war in a new commercial for Bryan Singer's X-Men: Apocalypse. In this TV spot, Apocalypse's soldiers - his super-powered Four Horsemen - get the lion's share of the spotlight, though Xavier's X-Men aren't completely left out. Everyone's got snazzy new costumes and seem eager to show off their powers, so we've pulled a few images that highlight these comic book heroes and villains come to life.
James McAvoy returns as Professor X, alongside Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, Nicholas Hoult as Beast, Evan Peters as Quicksilver, Rose Byrne as Moira MacTaggert, and Lucas Till as Havok. The new generation of X-heroes includes Tye Sheridan as Cyclops, Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, and Lana Condor as Jubilee.
Oscar Isaac's title villain recruits Michael Fassbender's Magneto, Alexandra Shipp's Storm, Olivia Munn's Psylocke, and Ben Hardy's Angel as his Four Horsemen to take on the X-Men and usher in a new world order. X-Men: Apocalypse arrives in theaters May 26, 2016.

Here’s the official synopsis for X-Men: Apocalypse:
Following the critically acclaimed global smash hit X-Men: Days of Future Past, director Bryan Singer returns with X-MEN: APOCALYPSE. Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.
