Following her roles in Sin City and Machete, Jessica Alba may achieve the Robert Rodriguez trifecta as the lead adult in Spy Kids 4.  Now that one-time child stars Alexa Vega (23) and Daryl Sabara (18) are no longer able to put the "kid" in Spy Kids, Rodriguez plans to reboot the franchise with Alba at the center.  According to Heat Vision, Alba would play a retired spy and mother of a baby and two preteen stepchildren, the latter fulfilling the duties of "spy kids."  Alongside the search for fresh young talent, Rodriguez is currently seeking actors to play Alba's nerdy investigative reporter husband and the villain "Time Keeper."

Production on the 3D sequel should start next month in Austin, with a trademark Rodriguez-sized budget of $30 million.  Vega, Sabara, and Spy Kids co-star Antonio Banderas are all expected to appear in supporting roles.
