Despite undergoing an abrupt director change recently, The Huntsman is moving full-steam ahead, adding an Oscar nominee to the cast just today. THR reports that Jessica Chastain has signed on to star opposite Christ Hemsworth in the Snow White and the Huntsman spinoff, though details regarding her role were not given. Frank Darabont had been set to direct the film and spent quite a few months developing and writing the script, but he left over creative differences last month. Shortly thereafter, Snow White second unit director and VFX supervisor Cedric Nicolas-Troyan replaced him on the Universal pic.

The story of The Huntsman takes place before the events of the previous film, focusing on the lives of the Huntsman and Charlize Theron’s Ravenna before Snow White upended things. Kristen Stewart is not returning, but Emily Blunt is poised to star as the film’s villain, Ravenna’s sister.

Chastain’s been plenty busy as of late, and she’ll next be seen this October in Guillermo del Toro’s Gothic horror story Crimson Peak. She just recently wrapped a role in Ridley Scott’s sci-fi pic The Martian, which will also open in theaters this year. Production on The Huntsman will likely begin this spring in anticipation of an April 22, 2016 release date.
