Jessica Jones will debut all 13 episodes on Netflix this November 20th, and the anticipation is palpable. So far we’ve seen a ton of teasers and one dark and enthralling trailer, previewing the psychological trauma inflicted by the villain, David Tennant’s Zebediah Killgrave. In a new image posted to the show’s page on Netflix, “The Purple Man” now takes center stage.

The Jessica Jones trailer mostly kept Killgrave’s face out of frame, choosing instead to highlight his power that wreaks havoc in Hell’s Kitchen. He essentially wields mind control, but it’s a little bit more complex in the comics. The character can emit pheromones from his skin that make people susceptible to his verbal commands. Jones (Krysten Ritter) faced him once before, which is what forced her superhero retirement, but she comes face to face with the sadistic killer once again.

In addition, Netflix released a new, though short plot description for the show. Where the previous synopsis focused on her day-to-day life, encountering other people with abilities as she rebuilds her life, this one focuses more on The Purple Man.

Haunted by a traumatic past, Jessica Jones uses her gifts as a private eye to find her tormentor before he can harm anyone else in Hell’s Kitchen.

Jessica Jones will also feature Mike Colter as Luke Cage, Carrie-Anne Moss as the gender-swapped Jeri Hogarth, Rachael Taylor as Patsy Walker, Eke Darville as Erin Moriarty, Will Traval as a police officer, and the return of Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple. The pilot episode already received positive reactions from fans and press after Marvel and Netflix surprised the New York Comic-Con crowd with a screening. Should this next run in our journey to The Defenders perform as well as Daredevil, we could be looking at a second season.
