We’ve got a couple of casting stories to share with you this afternoon. First up, the cast for Bong Joon-ho’s (The Host) thriller Snow Piercer has gained yet another stellar actor. In an interview with The Telegraph (via The Playlist), John Hurt (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy) revealed that he has joined the cast of the apocalyptic pic. Chris Evans, Tilda Swinton, and Jamie Bell are set to star in the film as a group of train travelers learning to co-exist in a new ice age. Production is scheduled to get underway in March, and Snow Piercer is already shaping up to be one of my most anticipated projects of 2013.

Hit the jump for casting news concerning the indie dubstep thriller (that’s right) Snap.

Production on the psychological thriller Snap is set to get underway on March 26th, and directors Victor Teran and Youssef Delara (Filly Brown) have found their stars. Deadline reports that Jake Hoffman (Barney’s Version) is set as the lead, a “brilliant but painfully introverted musician who develops a crush on a young social worker.” Nikki Reed (Twilight) will play the social worker who is initially drawn to Hoffman’s character until his “inner demons spiral out of control when the romance fizzles, with shocking and tragic results.”

I’m not entirely sure how dubstep figures into all of this, Deadline’s report states that the pic is set in the world of underground dubstep. The hope is to return to Sundance in 2013 with the finished film.
