Let's rewind the clock two years, when John Singleton was in talks to direct a Tupac Shakur biopic.  That's around the same time that a virtual Tupac descended on Coachella.  Singleton was lined up to take over for Antoine Fuqua, but there was little news on the project until now.  Variety reports that Singleton has signed on to produce, write and direct the untitled biopic that tells the story of the late rapper's "rise to [become] one of the most popular hip-hop artists, as well as his untimely murder following a boxing match in 1996 in Las Vegas."  No one has been cast in the lead role just yet.  Singleton will start work on rewriting the script, with production hoping to begin this June.

Be sure to head to the comments to let us know what you think of this news, and give us your suggestions for both who should play Shakur and what the biopic's title should be.
