‘John Wick 2’: Keanu Reeves Has a New Dog in First Images; Should We Be Worried?

     September 28, 2016

The first John Wick 2 images have arrived, and they may be met with a mix of excitement and dread. Keanu Reeves reprises his role as everyone’s favorite vengeful assassin in John Wick: Chapter 2, which expands the world of John Wick to further explore the network of hotels established in the first movie. In one of these debut images, we see that Wick has himself a new canine companion, but considering the awful fate that befell his puppy in the first movie, I am not exactly enthused to find out what happens to the dog this time around.

John Wick was the definition of a surprise hit when it was released in 2014, as the film was barely on anyone’s radar leading up to its release, only to become a solid word-of-mouth success. Veteran stunt coordinators/second unit directors Chad Stahelski and David Leitch made their directorial debut with a film that had the momentum of a firecracker, pulsing with giddy fist fights, gun fights, and verbal sparring.

Stahelski is working solo this time around, but the cast has expanded to include Common and Ruby Rose, with Ian McShane, John Leguizamo, and Lance Reddick reprising their roles from the first movie.

The film is set to have a New York City Comic-Con panel on October 8th, where we may very well get the first trailer. In the meantime, these debut images will do. Take a look below. John Wick: Chapter 2 opens in theaters on February 10, 2017.
