John Wick was one of 2014’s most pleasant surprises, so it’s with much anticipation that fans awaiting the upcoming sequel, John Wick: Chapter Two. While we’ve still got quite a ways to go before the film opens in theaters—a little over a year, if you can believe it—Collider’s own Steve Weintraub was recently walking the floor at CinemaCon in Las Vegas and was able to snap a picture of the first promo poster for the film.
While this isn’t an official piece of marketing material and may never even be released outside of CinemaCon, it is our first semi-look at the highly anticipated sequel, even if it kind of looks like it’s repurposing an image from the first movie.
The sequel finds Keanu Reeves returning at the titular assassin who is once again forced back out of retirement, this time when a former associate attempts to seize control of a shadowy international assassins’ guild. The setting switches to Rome this time around, as John Wick once again squares off against a cadre of deadly killers.
Director Chad Stahelski is flying solo for the sequel, but he’s assembled a cast full of both familiar faces and newcomers. With regards to the former, we’ve got Lance Reddick, John Leguizamo, Bridget Moynahan, and Ian McShane all back in the saddle, with Laurence Fishburne, Ruby Rose, Common, Peter Stormare, and Riccardo Scamarcio joining the ensemble.
So take a look at the John Wick: Chapter Two promo poster below, which boasts the tagline “It Ain’t Over ‘Till It’s Over.” The film opens in theaters on February 10, 2017.
