According to a report from Mashable, John Wick co-director David Leitch is the frontrunner to direct Deadpool 2. Mashable notes that several other directors remain in the mix, but that Leitch’s name is at the very top. The sequel doesn’t currently have a release date, but Fox is moving forward with casting already underway for the role of Domino.

While Robert Downey Jr. has his plate full with two more Avengers movies in his contract, he is still very much interested in getting his next Sherlock Holmes movie off the ground. Variety reports that Warner Bros. and Team Downey have created a writers room to help shape the script and story for the next installment. They include Guardians of the Galaxy writer Nicole Perlman, Baywatch’s Justin Malen, Rogue One’s Gary Whitta, Tomb Raider’s Geneva Dworet-Robertson and Snowden screenwriter Kieran Fitzgerald. Downey is attached to star with Jude Law also expected to return. Guy Ritchie, who directed the first two films, is expected to return as well.

Another highly anticipated superhero movie just wrapped production. The cast and crew of Taika Waititi‘s Thor: Ragnarok finished filming yesterday in Australia, with a post-wrap celebration broadcast to fans around the world via Facebook Live. Waititi then let a little something slip. While he was introducing an actor who will be in the movie, the character name of Miek was clearly mentioned. The name should sound familiar to Marvel's comic book faithful as Miek was an alien who teamed with the Hulk during the Planet Hulk storyline. It appears now that we’ll be getting a lot more story points from that popular run.

Benedict Cumberbatch has already confirmed that he’ll return for Avengers: Infinity War and now, thanks to an interview with Yahoo UK, he’s hinting that Strange might just be the guy to help bring the Marvel superheroes back together after the events of Civil War.  When asked if he was Team Iron Man or Team Cap, Cumberbatch said that he thinks that Strange will help as opposed to taking a side.

According to an interview in GQ, Wes Anderson is already in production on his stop motion animated movie that features the voices of Jeff Goldblum, Bob Balaban, Edward Norton, Bill Murray, and Bryan Cranston. The story is said to center on the lives of dogs, though exactly how the story plays out remains a bit of a mystery.

Greetings and Salutations Collider Family!

Now I'm not one for talking during movies, but if you could sit down with your favorite filmmaker, ask questions, and record your own commentary with them on one of their films, who would it be and which film would you chose?

I would love to sit down with Steven Spielberg and watch Jurassic Park or Saving Private Ryan, especially since he never makes commentaries.

Would love to hear your picks!

Trick 'r Treat Collider crew! With it being Halloween time, if you could be any character/creature for Halloween with the resources of an effects company, who/what would you go as?
