While almost every movie gets a few days of reshoots after initial filming wraps, whenever you hear about a big studio release doing reshoots, it's always a story.

Saying that, spoilertv is reporting Jonah Hex will be doing reshoots from Jan. 18 to Feb. 1 and they are casting for the new scenes right now.  Since the movie is based on a comic book, when looking over the casting call, it's clear what they are going to film in the reshoots. Hit the jump for more:

Here are the casting breakdowns:

[CASSIE] - wife of 'Jonah Hex' (Josh Brolin). Native American. Pretty, young, sexy.

[TRAVIS] - age 9 (to play younger)... Must be a match to Josh Brolin and Native American 'Cassie'.

[JEB TURNBULL] - son of 'Quentin Turnbull' (John Malkovich). 30 - 35. Skinny, southern accent. Needs one or two days for prosthetics.

[PRESIDENT ANDREW JOHNSON] - 50-60. Look alike, if possible.

[ADVISOR] - to President Johnson. Younger, 1870's version of a "West Wing" character.

[DEAD GUY] - late 20s/30s. Scary looking.. May need a day for prosthetics/possible make-up.

What's interesting about the casting breakdown is in the comic book, Jonah Hex was engaged to Cassie, but she died the day before their wedding. It's clear Travis is Jonah and Cassie's son, so perhaps they are changing the storyline to Cassie and Travis getting killed when Hex's face gets scarred.  While that's just a guess, it follows typical movie rules.

And when you look over the official synopsis, it says:

But Jonah's past is about to catch up with him when the U.S. military makes him an offer he can't refuse: in exchange for his freedom from the warrants on his head, he must track down and stop the dangerous terrorist Quentin Turnbull (John Malkovich).

In the casting call, they are looking for President Andrew Johnson (1865-1869), so that lets us know Jonah Hex is either offered the job from the President, or he's thanked by him after the mission is over.

Again, reshoots are typical on almost every movie, but two weeks of reshoots are a bit high.  Saying that, a studio will typically only spend the money to do extensive reshoots if they really believe in a project.

I've sent a few emails to people I know on the project hoping to clarify if the reshoots were always planned and if the two weeks are accurate.  I'll post an update if and when I get clarification.

Here's the full synopsis for Jonah Hex:

Jonah Hex (Josh Brolin) is a scarred drifter and bounty hunter of last resort, a tough and stoic gunslinger who can track down anyone...and anything. Having survived death, Jonah's violent history is steeped in myth and legend, and has left him with one foot in the natural world and one on the "other side." His only human connection is with Leila (Megan Fox), whose life in a brothel has left her with scars of her own. But Jonah's past is about to catch up with him when the U.S. military makes him an offer he can't refuse: in exchange for his freedom from the warrants on his head, he must track down and stop the dangerous terrorist Quentin Turnbull (John Malkovich). But Turnbull, who is gathering an army and preparing to unleash Hell, is also Jonah's oldest enemy and will stop at nothing until Jonah is dead. Based on the legendary graphic novel, "Jonah Hex" is an epic adventure thriller about one man's personal quest for redemption against the vast canvas of the battle between good and evil.
