Twenty-one year old British soul singer Joss Stone will join the third season of Showtime's period soap "The Tudors" in its upcoming third season. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Stone will play Anne of Cleves, fourth wife of King Henry the Eighth.

The part will mark the first major acting role for Stone, who previously had a small part in the fantasy film "Eragon.'" Seems like a great opportunity for the singer, though I wonder if anyone bothered to tell her that Anne of Cleves is known as the wife who got to keep her head because said-head was so damned ugly.

It's true. Henry divorced Anne of Cleves because she didn't look anywhere near as cute as she did in her official portrait. Millions on J Date know his pain.

Production began on season three of "The Tudors" this June in

Dublin.
