The talent of Julianne Moore is pretty darn solidified at this point. From Boogie Nights to Magnolia to Game Change, even Gus Van Sant’s odd Psycho remake—she’s great in everything. But what may be surprising is that she’s able to turn this greatness on like a light switch at the drop of a hat. How do we know this? Well the incredibly funny Bill Eichner had Moore on his street-set talk show Billy on the Street recently, where he had Moore go up to strangers in Times Square and act out some of her biggest roles on cue for tips. The goal was to give those faux famous characters creepin’ around Times Square a run for their money, and boy did Moore and Eichner succeed.
In the video below, you’ll see Moore perform scenes from Magnolia, The Big Lebowski and more. And she doesn’t simply give a fine performance. No, Moore gets into it, crying on cue and making these strangers super uncomfortable. It’s great to see an actress of Moore’s caliber so game to do something like this, and it’s positively delightful to experience just how good she is on cue. Seriously, it’s kind of unbelievable. Eichner’s show has given us a lot of great moments during its run, but this might take the cake. Can someone win an Emmy for a guest appearance on a talk show?
