Production on a new Jumanji movie begins imminently, and star/global superpower Dwayne Johnson is sharing a sneak peek at his character before cameras begin rolling. The film is not a reboot but instead is a sequel to the 1995 film that starred Robin Williams as a man who found himself trapped in the titular game as a boy, and is “let out” when a pair of kids decide to roll the dice in present day. It’s unclear just exactly how this new film connects to the original, but with production taking place in Hawaii and given the Indiana Jones vibe of this concept art, it’s possible this follow-up will be spending considerably more time inside the game than out.

Jake Kasdan, the filmmaker behind Orange County and Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story, is directing this new Jumanji movie, and comedy certainly appears to be the name of the game as Johnson is joined in the cast by Jack Black and Kevin Hart, with Nick Jonas and Guardians of the Galaxy actress Karen Gillian filling out the ensemble.

Johnson is playing a character named Dr. Bravestone, and again while we don’t have any details about the story, he certainly seems primed and ready to jump into Jumanji and do battle with all sorts of jungle creatures. If Johnson’s previous social media output is any indication, this is likely the first of many updates throughout production, so stay tuned.
