Jurassic World is a pop culture phenomenon. From executive producer Steven Spielberg and director Colin Trevorrow, the fourth installment in the beloved Jurassic Park franchise has garnered an absolutely insane amount of box office revenue, earning a spot as the third highest grossing movie of all time, and the biggest movie of 2015 so far. And, as you might expect, a sequel is already in the works.

In anticipation of the Jurassic World home video release, I recently joined the cast in Oahu, Hawaii to tour the sets where they filmed many of the movie’s key sequences. While there I spoke with B.D. Wong about returning to the iconic franchise, why Dr. Wu Isn't an outright villain, how Trevorrow reminded him of Spielberg, why he's the right director to take on Star Wars: Episode IX, and more. Watch what he had to say below.

BD Wong

  • Talks about the advances in technology and effects and working with the articulated puppetry, and the effort made in Jurassic World to honor the technology used in Jurassic Park.
  • How does he perceive how Dr. Wu has changed over the last 20 years and his step toward villainy?
  • Talks about how Dr. Wu developed a manic obsession with scientific breakthroughs.
  • Talks about how the two versions of the character are complimentary.
  • Why is Colin Trevorrow the right director to take on huge sequels like Jurassic World and Star Wars: Episode IX?
