Universal Pictures has released a new clip from Jurassic World, and it’s quite revelatory in regards to how Chris Pratt’s character fits into the picture. The Parks and Recreation actor plays a researcher named Owen Grady in the sequel, which takes place at a fully functional Jurassic Park. Grady appears to be a friendly zookeeper of sorts when it comes to the various dinosaurs, and as we can see in this clip, he has a special relationship with the dangerous velociraptors. But the highlight of the clip for me personally is getting a taste of Michael Giacchino’s score for the film, which certainly sounds like it’s drawing on John Williams’ previous work.

By now we’ve seen enough of Jurassic World to have a pretty solid idea of what we’re in for. It’s a little silly looking, but then again I’m not convinced that Jurassic Park is a franchise, so I don’t have super high hopes for any sequel let alone Jurassic World. I’m still very curious to see what director Colin Trevorrow has cooked up with this film, and would love to be pleasantly surprised, but I won’t be crushed if the movie isn’t great. Chris Pratt + Raptor Buddies? Sure, sounds like fun.
