Universal has released a new extended TV spot for Jurassic World and it's packed with all kinds of dino-action. From director Colin Trevorrow (Safety Not Garunteed) and executive producer Steven Spielberg, the fourth entry in the franchise takes audiences inside a fully operational iteration of John Hammond’s park. The rides are packed and the park is thriving, including the Hammond Creation Lab, the genetic engineering facility that creates a bigger, badder dinosaur for attendees who’ve grown bored of the T-Rex. Jurassic World opens in 3D on June 12th, and stars Chris PrattBryce Dallas HowardNick RobinsonTy SimpkinsVincent D’OnofrioIrrfan Khan, Jake Johnson, Omar Sy and Judy Greer. I wasn't a fan of the last clip, which offered an out-of-context action scene with no stakes and death completely devoid of impact, but I'm thrilled with this extended spot. The stakes are back, the dinosaurs look fantastic and appropriately terrifying, and that iconic roar evokes my deep love for the franchise. It also offers a more up-close look at the creature effects, and they're pretty great. Film audiences have become incredibly particular about special effects over the last 20 years, and I'm not sure anything can ever match the awe of Spielberg's original film, but at this point complaints about the effects seem nitpicky. If this trailer is anything to go by, we're in for some damn good looking dino chaos. You can catch up on all things Jurassic World here, or check out our latest coverage below:
