A few days ago I got to do something very cool: I spent the day on the London set of Zack Snyder’s Justice League along with a number of other reporters. While I’m normally prevented from revealing what I saw and learned on set till a month or so before release, in an unusual move, Snyder and Warner Bros. are lifting our embargo only a few short days after arriving home! In my many years of running Collider, I can count on just a few fingers the amount of times an embargo has lifted so soon after a visit. It’s an amazing surprise and something I wish happened more often.

Anyway, while on set we conducted interviews with Ben Affleck (Batman), Zack Snyder, producers Deborah Snyder and Charles Roven, costume designer Michael Wilkinson, spoke briefly with Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Ezra Miller (Flash), Ray Fisher (Cyborg), and walked around a number of sets and learned a great deal about Snyder's follow-up to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

One of my big takeaways from the set visit is how the tone of Justice League is going to be a lot different. Unlike Batman v Superman, which was dark and serious, we watched scenes that showed Bruce Wayne can smile, and Flash is going to be played with a lot of fun and youthful energy—he's someone who's really excited to be a hero. It’s a big change and something that should excite the fans and people that didn’t think BvS was all that.

Shortly after getting back from set I recorded a video blog with Peter from /film and Devin from Birth.Movies.Death. We talked about what we saw, learned and thought about the Batman v Superman follow-up after spending about nine hours on the London set. The beginning of the video is completely spoiler free and we’ll warn you before we dive deeper.

Finally, before watching, a huge thank you to Zack Snyder and Warner Bros. for inviting us to the Justice League set and letting us talk about it so soon after returning home.
