Justin Theroux has now joined the cast of David Gordon Green's ("Pineapple Express) next comedy as the villain of "Your Highness".  Theroux will play Leezar, an evil wizard with a bejeweled magical staff who kidnaps a princess (Zooey Deschanel).  He will now be joining the cast which already includes Danny McBride, James Franco, and Natalie Portman. To find out more details about "Your Highness" and why it is sure to kick ass, hit the jump.

To those that don't know the film centers on an arrogant, lazy prince (McBride) who must complete a quest to save his father's kingdom.  The film will also be a throwback to the sword and soccery films from the 80s which inslude such "great" films like "Deathstalker".  and "Dragonslayer".  McBride has said that the film has everything from stop-motion creatures to puppets like in "Dark Crystal".  He also said that the film will be like "Barry Lyndon meets Krull"  Yes.  I know. This sounds amazing, right?

I could not be more excited for this one since I am a huge fan of David Gordon Green's work and I can't wait to see what he will do with this one.  It's right next to "Scott Pilgrim vs The World" as my most anticipated film for next year.  Now knowing that the films villian will be an evil wizard with a magical staff makes me even more excited.  2010 can't come soon enough.

"Your Highness" is currently shooting in Ireland and I'm guessing will be released sometime next year. The film is also written by McBride and Ben Best who have given us the great "The Foot Fist Way" and even greater "Eastbound and Down" in the past couple of years.

[Matt's note: Justin Theroux, who wrote the screenplay for "Iron Man 2", also wrote last year's "Tropic Thunder" co-starring Danny McBride].
